The Worst 5 Flowers To Get For Your Wedding

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and choosing the right flowers can make all the difference. While there are countless beautiful flower options to choose from, there are also some flowers that may not be the best choice for your wedding day. Here are five of the worst flowers to get for your wedding:

The Worst 5 Flowers To Get For Your Wedding

Lily of the Valley: While Lily of the Valley may look beautiful and delicate, it is also highly toxic. Not only can it be harmful to your guests, but it can also cause allergies or other reactions for the bride or groom.
Hydrangeas: Hydrangeas are a popular flower for weddings, but they can also wilt easily and quickly. This means they may not look as fresh and vibrant throughout your wedding day.

Stephanotis: While Stephanotis are popular for their fragrant scent and star-shaped flowers, they can also be quite delicate and difficult to work with. This means they may not hold up well throughout your wedding day and may wilt or droop.

Delphinium: While Delphiniums are tall and striking, they are also very fragile and can break easily. This means they may not be the best choice for bouquets or centerpieces that need to be
transported or moved around throughout the day.

Calla Lilies: While Calla Lilies are beautiful and elegant, they are also quite sensitive to heat and humidity. This means they may wilt or droop quickly, especially if you are having an outdoor wedding.

While these flowers may not be the best choice for your wedding day, there are countless other beautiful flowers to choose from. Consult with a professional florist to help you choose the perfect flowers for your special day. By choosing the right flowers, you can ensure that your wedding day is everything you dreamed of and more.

Why Do We Have Flowers At Wedding?

Imagine coming to a wedding where there are absolutely no flowers. It would look empty wouldn't it? Flowers are meant to bring beauty and romance to the event.

The tradition of having flowers at weddings dates back centuries, and they have come to play an important role in the overall ambiance and symbolism of a wedding.

One of the main roles of flowers at weddings is to bring beauty and romance to the event. Flowers are known for their natural beauty and the way they can enhance any space. From the bridal bouquet to the centerpieces on the reception tables, flowers bring color, texture, and fragrance to the occasion, making it feel more festive and celebratory.

But flowers also hold a deeper significance in weddings. They are often used as a symbol of love, commitment, and new beginnings.

Overall, flowers are an essential part of a wedding celebration, and it's hard to imagine a wedding without them. Their beauty, symbolism, and practicality make them a vital element that sets the tone for the entire event.

Alexis & Bolt VIP Shopping Event

Fashion, cocktails, candles, flowers…. What more could you want? Our partnership for Alexis & Bolt’s VIP event was so much fun. If you are not familiar with Alexis and Bolt, they are located in downtown Nashville, particularly the Germantown area. When you first look at the outside of her store, it looks like it could be a house but wait til you walk inside!! It is everything a trendy guy or gal could ever dream of. From wardrobe pieces that will always guarantee you are on trend, to fun items to add to your home, Alexis & Bolt is truly a one stop shop that you will always want to visit every time you are in the Germantown area.

What’s really special about Alexis & Bolt is their annual events. This past Thursday, we were thrilled to be invited to their VIP Shoppers event. It was an evening where shoppers could walk through the store and purchase items at a special discount and hang out in their private event space that is located in the back of their shop called Versed. That is where people could sit and hang out and grab a couple of cocktails.

The cocktails made for the evening were sponsored by Campesino Rum. The menu included a mojito or Rum Old Fashioned, which were bursting in so many different flavors! Along with us, was Les Deux Fragrances, a unisex frangrance company that makes very well-crafted candles and perfumes that are free of added sulfates, phthalates or parabens and hand mixed in small batches.

Our Tropical floral design ended up being a great backdrop for photos. This VIP shopping event was tiki themed, so we went for all things tropical in our arrangement. With a wide array of colors, flavorful drinks and impeccable choices to add to your wardrobe, this was an unforgettable night that we are so excited to be given the opportunity to be a part of! We are tagging the businesses that were involved in the evening below. Be sure to check them out!

Mother's Day: A Dozen Roses, 6 Feet Apart

Every year for Mother’s Day, my dad, my eight siblings and I treat my mom to decadent pastries from this charming European Café called Ettore’s, and of course shower her with fresh blooms.  It’s a tradition we all look forward to; I love seeing the smile on my mom’s face as she takes a bite of her fruit tart and smells her spring bouquet.  But this year, we’re not able to crowd around the table at Ettore’s or meet in person for hugs.  As many restaurants and businesses remain closed, and social distancing is in place, Mother’s Day looks different for us all.

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned during quarantine, it’s that showing your loved ones you care is more important than ever, and that means mom this Mother’s Day.  One of my favorite ways to celebrate her -treats and blooms- has inspired this year’s collaboration with local businesses.  Petals and Fields is partnering with several Nashville businesses to bring a little love to mom from a distance.  You can pair an exquisite cheeseboard or delicious donuts with one of our over-the-top floral bouquets that are as special and unique as she is.

Don’t miss out on a creative way to show mom you care.  Arrangements and pairings are available while supplies last.  Order with ease through our website or contact us directly.  We offer safe no-contact local delivery or pick-up.

You can also add flowers to your order from our following business partners:

Frothy Monkey (all four locations): Special packages available.  Order flowers and food for curbside pick-up or delivery.

Donut + Dog:  Special packages available.  Order flowers and food for curbside pick-up or delivery.

Nashville Cheese Gal: Charcuterie boards and bouquets delivered straight to your door for $220.

Whitney’s Cookies: Package deals from $69.  Vegan options available.

****Be sure to pick up fresh blooms at any of your Barista parlor locations!
